Greenhill Barton
Type of property
At Greenhill Barton, people are welcomed and supported to live independent lives.
Greenhill Barton consists of a detached house that is split into three self-contained apartments with their own bathroom, lounge, kitchen and bedroom. There are three further independent apartments which have their own bedroom, lounge and bathroom with a shared kitchen. Finally there are two apartments in a wheelchair-accessible bungalow. These each have a bedroom, lounge, kitchen and bathroom.
Outside there’s an accessible garden with a patio and barbecue area for spending time outdoors when the weather is good.
When you choose supported living, you’re choosing to live independently, safe and secure behind your own front door. There’s peace of mind in knowing the Lifeways team is on-hand, providing tailored support that helps people to lead more fulfilling lives, surrounded by like-minded people.
Living at this service
Life at Greenhill Barton is suitable for people with learning disabilities, brain injuries or autism.
We are ready to welcome someone of any age who has good mobility as the vacant apartment has stairs. The service is in a rural area so someone with good independence or who has access to a vehicle would be ideal.
The current residents love to relax and enjoy time together in the large garden. Someone who enjoys socialising in a calm and friendly environment would be a perfect fit. The people here enjoy lots of hobbies and activities, including going for walks in the countryside, going swimming and day trips to the coast.
Valued in your community
There are few things more rewarding than feeling like an active and valued part of the community.
Greenhill Barton is situated just outside the ancient market town of Langport, in the heart of the Somerset Levels. Langport has many facilities including a post office, library, pharmacy and medical centre; retail outlets ranging from supermarkets to a wide variety of independent shops and craft workshops, and many good places to eat and drink. There are pleasant walks around the town, with attractive picnic areas beside the river and in the Walter Bagehot Town Garden, overlooking the moors.
Yeovil and Taunton are both under half an hour’s drive away, and the popular seaside town of Burnham-on-Sea is just under an hour away.
“We are a very settled service with an established staff team that feels like a big family. We have a good mix of people living here. We enjoy Sunday dinners together and all go out for a variety of activities. It is a busy but fun place to live.” Manager, Greenhill Barton
