Valued in your community
At Hampshire Road, we are located in a residential area with peaceful surroundings. The local area has cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as a library and a post office.
Blackburn is easily accessible from the property and offers the Empire Theatre, museums and art galleries, a Vue cinema, Planet Ice for skating, the Mall Shopping Centre and Market, Tenpin Blackburn for bowling, and many historical landmarks. For people who like to stay active, Blackburn Sports and Leisure Centre provides year-round access to a gym and swimming pool.
Nearby Preston also provides access to a range of vibrant cafes, restaurants, shops and attractions including St George’s and Fishergate shopping centres, and an Odeon cinema. There are a number of museums in the area too - Ribble Steam Railway and Museum is a popular choice.
Preston is also home to the Creative Space Centre - the UK’s largest multi-sensory centre for people with special needs. There are three sensory rooms, all with modern lighting and sound projection equipment, a social and eating area and beautiful gardens. This is a wonderful space for both children and adults to enjoy.
Living at this service
Hampshire Road is ideal for a mature woman. The people we support here are all women aged over 40.
They have a range of interests, including cooking, watching films, singing and karaoke and going to the disco. They also enjoy their own space and sometimes attend the local day centre.
“Hampshire Road is a very friendly and quiet house, where people always like to have music or films on in the house. There is a brand new kitchen which has been decorated in a homely and welcoming manner. The area is safe and friendly with long-term staff and a good community.” Manager, Hampshire Road
