Pear Tree Cottage

Type of property
Pear Tree Cottage is a bungalow where people are welcomed and supported to live independent lives. The house has three bedrooms, all of which have en-suite bathrooms. There’s a large open plan dining room and lounge, separate kitchen and a long corridor to the bedrooms and shared bathroom. Outside there’s a lawned area and patio to the front and rear, which everyone can enjoy when the weather is good.
Valued in your community
Life at Pear Tree Cottage is suitable for people with learning disabilities or autism. The house is currently vacant and so we are ready to welcome three compatible people of any age and gender. Pear Tree Cottage would be suitable for anyone who would benefit from personalised support. Whoever moves in will be supported to do the activities and hobbies they enjoy, and to get the best out of the local community.
Living at this service
Pear Tree Cottage is in a quiet rural area in the small village of West Knapton. Locally there are a few shops, a post office, pubs and a bakery. The town of Malton is a short drive away and is the local area’s commercial and retail centre. In the town centre there are small traditional independent shops and high street names. The marketplace has recently become a meeting area with a number of coffee bars and cafés opening all day to complement the public houses. Malton has been described as “the food capital of Yorkshire”, and was voted one of the best places to live in Britain by The Sunday Times in both the 2017 and 2018 lists.
