The Birches

Type of property
The Birches is a modern, three-bedroom bungalow where people are supported to live the life they choose. The house is wheelchair accessible and features a kitchen, dining room, laundry room and a staff sleep-in room. There’s one shared shower room and one
shared bathroom with a bath.
Outside there’s a good-sized garden with a seating area for all residents to enjoy.
When you choose supported living, you’re choosing to live independently, safe and secure behind your own front door. There’s peace of mind in knowing the Lifeways team is on-hand, providing tailored support that helps people to lead more fulfilling lives, surrounded by like-minded people.
Living at this service
Life at The Birches is suitable for people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or autism. We are ready to welcome a person aged over 30 who is calm and who would benefit from support in their day-to-day life. The people living here are all over 40 and have a range of interests and hobbies. One person is very outgoing, and one is quieter and enjoys time on their own.
They enjoy sensory activities and have a real passion for food so trips to restaurants are always a favourite. Whoever moves in will be supported to do whatever they enjoy and to get the most out of the local community.
Valued in your community
There are few things more rewarding than feeling like an active and valued part of the community. The Birches is ideally located in a popular residential area just outside Tonbridge. There are shops and cafes nearby, with more amenities in the town centre which is a five-minute drive away.
Tonbridge is a pretty market town that offers a range of high street shops, theatres and art galleries as well as plenty of restaurants and pubs. Tonbridge Castle is a popular landmark, and there are several public parks to enjoy, including Haysden Country Park and Tudeley Woods. Maidstone is half an hour's drive away and you can get to London on the train in under an hour.

“The Birches is a really lovely place to live. It’s cosy and the people here are really settled and get on well.”
