‘We have an amazing team at Lifeways’: find out more from Nicola Thomas, Regional HR Manager
Nicola Thomas, Regional HR Manager at Lifeways, tells us about the activities – and fun – that she likes to get involved with to make each day at Lifeways a great place to work.
Nicola has been working for Lifeways since 2016. She provides strategic and operational HR business partnering to our Operational Teams in the North West Region, as well as the Business Development and Marketing support functions.
She’s always keen to get involved with planning initiatives for her colleagues and people we support across Lifeways.
“I am particularly passionate about creating a culture where our colleagues feel engaged and connected at Lifeways,” says Nicola.
“So if there is ever an opportunity to get our colleagues and people we support involved in a bit of fun then you can count on me to be right behind it."
“During my time at Lifeways, we’ve held team award events, fundraising events, coffee mornings, wellbeing challenges, and social get-togethers to name a few. I’m always an advocate for fancy dress and I love a Christmas jumper!”
On Valentine’s Day, Nicola’s been known to spread a bit of Cupid’s cheer by leaving a packet of love hearts on everyone’s desk for when they come into work.
More recently, her team ran a poll for colleagues to vote for their region’s favourite Christmas song. They also created a music video with our colleagues and people we support singing and dancing along to it.

During her time at Lifeways, Nicola has always kept her focus on wanting to improve the experience for our colleagues and people we support.
