What role can you play at Lifeways?
There’s more than one way to make an impact at Lifeways. Whether you’re supporting people directly or working behind the scenes, every role matters.
Explore your options and find where you shine.
Support Worker
Being a Support Worker at Lifeways is more than a job - it’s a lifeline.
You’ll help people with learning disabilities or autism live life on their terms and help them become more independent than they ever thought possible. It’s hands-on, heartfelt, and hugely rewarding.
If you care, you’ve already got what it takes.
I wish I’d done this 20 years ago. I worked in retail as an area sales manager for twenty years but retired because I wanted to do this. You can get chances to do things you’ve never done before and help people, which is so rewarding. It’s brilliant because you learn new things every day.
Allison Jones, Support Worker
The best part is seeing people truly live life, not just get by. I want the people we support to enjoy experiences, try new things, and feel fulfilled every day. I also love making positive changes in how the service runs - whether it’s improving rotas or organising activities.
Charli Rio Williams, Team Leader
Team Leader
Ready to take the next step?
As a Team Leader, you’ll guide your team, support quality care, and bring out the best in everyone.
You’ll still be on the floor, but now you’re leading from it and inspiring those around you.
Deputy Manager
As a Deputy Manager, you’ll help run the service, mentor team members, and make sure everything’s running smoothly.
It’s a big role with even bigger rewards. You’re not just keeping things going. You’re raising the bar.
Ultimately, my role is about making sure everyone, from support workers to team leaders, feels supported, skilled, and ready to deliver the best outcomes for the people we support.
Sabrina Brown, Deputy Manager, Heath Farm
Good line managers make a huge difference - they play to your strengths, help you tackle weaknesses, and let you learn from mistakes without fear.
Clive Pullen, Service Manager, Mental Health Division
Service and Registered Manager
This is where leadership gets real.
You’ll manage services, support your team, and make a massive impact on the lives of people we support.
You’ll be trusted, empowered and fully supported. Because great services need great leaders.
Area Manager
Ready to take the next step? Our Area Managers play a pivotal leadership role, driving quality, safety, and performance across multiple services.
They ensure regulatory excellence, service development, and strong CQC compliance. Crucially, they’re the key link between frontline teams and senior leaders, ensuring clear communication and local delivery of strategic goals.
I’ve seen support workers become managers, get distinctions in their diplomas, and really change their lives. It’s about seeing people - those we support and those we employ - achieve what they thought they couldn’t.
Catherine Bircumshaw, Area Manager
Every role within Lifeways contributes to improving lives, and the Quality team plays its part by ensuring that what we do is effective, consistent, and focused on the people we support. Our work underpins the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. We’re not there to judge, we’re there to guide and enable.
Cherianne Howe, Head of Regulation and Governance
Operational Leadership and Quality
Want to drive big-picture change?
Our Operations and Quality teams shape how we work across Lifeways, raising standards and improving lives every day.
You’ll lead, inspire, and help us keep getting better.
Central Support Functions
From HR to IT to Finance, our central teams keep everything moving.
You may not be on the front line - but your impact is felt everywhere by supporting the people who support the people.
There’s a lot of opportunity, honestly! I started working as a social worker, then an opportunity came up in the IT team which my manager encouraged me to go for because they knew I had a passion for IT. When I moved into IT, I discovered so many paths I hadn’t even considered: cybersecurity, applications support, networking, and more.
