What makes us
We're more than a care provider, we're a community. People stick around because they feel valued, supported and are proud of the impact they have. You’ll feel the difference from day one. Our teams lift each other up, our managers listen, and we never forget that behind every great service is a team of dedicated people.
If empathy, patience and kindness come naturally to you, you’re our kind of person. We’ll give you the training, support and opportunities to grow.
As a support worker you’ll have access to £2000 worth of rewards, savings and benefits alongside 8 paid training days in your first year.
It’s not just what we do - it’s how we do it. With heart. With purpose. Because when you’re wired for care, you belong somewhere that recognises it.
Rewards and recognition
We believe in celebrating the people who make Lifeways what it is - the big wins, the little ones, and everything in between. Because every action, every day, makes a difference.
When you join us, you’ll see everything from heartfelt shout-outs and inspirational stories to celebrations - proof that great things are happening here every single day. From bonus schemes and money-saving discounts to team member awards and everyday praise, we make sure you feel appreciated.
When you give your all to support others, you deserve to feel valued in return — and at Lifeways, that’s just part of the job.

Induction and learning
You don’t need qualifications or specialist knowledge to start with us - we’ll train you in everything you need to know. We understand that supporting people with complex needs is a big responsibility, and we know, because you’re not just anyone, you’ll want to do a great job.
That’s why our induction and learning is designed to set you up for success. New support workers get to shadow experienced team members in their first week and then build skills through hands-on experience, digital learning, or support from your fantastic team, helping you develop the knowledge and confidence to make a real difference.
So whether you’ve taken a career break, are looking for a fresh start, or want renewed purpose after retiring or now the kids have left home - think about a career with us. You’re not just anyone. And this isn’t just any job.
How we care for the carers
At Lifeways, we know that caring for others starts with feeling cared for yourself. That’s why your wellbeing is at the heart of what we do. We support your mind, body and purpose so you can do your best work and feel your best too.
You’ll have free, confidential mental health support through our 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, with expert help whenever you need it. Our online Wellbeing Centre offers tips, tools and mini-courses on moving more, eating well, managing money and boosting resilience.
And you’ll have regular check-ins with your manager and team to talk about how you’re doing and where you want to grow. When you feel good, you make a difference, and we’re with you every step of the way.

Career journeys and happy campers
Where you start with us isn’t as important as where you’ll finish. We’ve got clear career pathways, real development opportunities, and plenty of chances to move up, sideways, or even take a step back if that’s what’s right for you.
Career journeys aren’t always straightforward, and that’s okay. Some people want to climb the ladder, others want to specialise, lead a team, explore something new, or simply focus on doing what they do best. Everyone’s different, and no matter your goals, we’ve got you.
In fact, a third of our senior leaders started as support workers - whilst others joined mid-career from completely different sectors. So, wherever you’re heading, we’ll help you get there. A group of “not just anyones” - together!
I have gone from Support Worker to Deputy Manager with support from my managers and co-workers, who believed in me and encouraged me to be who I am today. I wasn't initially confident to step up, but I did everything I could to learn about the role and identify what is expected of me. I jumped at any opportunity that arose which aided my promotion, and the training provided by Lifeways increased my confidence profoundly.

At Lifeways, your voice matters
Lifeways has been around for over 30 years — and like every great company, we’ve had to evolve. How do we do it? By listening to our greatest asset: our people.
Almost 10,000 team members help keep us grounded, focused, and moving forward. Listening to them - to you - is how we grow. Whether it’s through our engagement and pulse surveys, the One Team Forums, or Ask Executive Leadership Team or having breakfast with Andrea, the CEO, there are lots of ways to have your say and help shape the direction we travel.
Having a voice
We really listen. From 1:1s and staff surveys, to sessions with leadership and staff groups, your voice shapes how we work, where we’re going and improves things for everyone. Being heard at Lifeways is a given, not a bonus.
Getting involved
There’s always something going on, and we want you in on it. From community projects to charity fundraisers and our One Team Forum, you can get stuck in and give back as and when you like.
The Lifeways Diversity Council
Be your authentic self at Lifeways. Our Diversity Council empowers you to champion inclusion, challenge bias, and help make Lifeways better for everyone. Your voice drives real change.
Moving from hospitality into social care was daunting, however I soon realised that all my skills and life experience were a clear advantage. Moving from support worker to deputy service manager and then service manager and recently to regional quality manager, my career has never felt or looked so good.
