Birch Hall
Life-changing support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries or mental health conditions.
Type of property
At Birch Hall apartments, people come together as a community. Living in this shared building means people benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, as well as enjoying independence in their own apartments when they need it too.
There are eleven one-bedroom apartments, each with an open-plan kitchen and living room, and a bathroom. Birch Hall also has an accessible garden with a BBQ for people to spend time outside when the weather is good. There is an indoor space where people enjoy group activities too.
Assistive technology includes door sensors. One of the ground floor apartments is wheelchair accessible. Small pets are welcome here - we currently have birds, a hamster and a rabbit onsite.
Birch Hall Apartments is next to Meadow Terrace, another Lifeways Service. The people we support in each place enjoy socialising at Birch Hall for group activities.

People also like to visit Bolton which offers the Crompton Place Shopping Centre, Bolton Market, the Octagon Theatre, a Light Cinema and Hollywood Bowl Bolton for bowling.
Living at this service
We are ready to welcome an individual to join the people we support here.
People have varied interests including listening to music, watching television, cooking, bingo, going to the gym, volunteering, socialising, karaoke, going to the pub, walking, swimming, going out for lunch, gardening, shopping, and being in the community. One resident plays the keyboard and another person plays the guitar.
At Birch Hall, people choose how they spend their time. Trips to Southport, Blackpool and Morecambe are favourites. People enjoy taking part in group activities including BBQs, charity events, cinema trips, sponsored walks and an onsite gardening club. Group and one-to-one holidays have also been arranged.
“At Birch Hall we support a great mix of people. Everyone is very compatible and enjoys spending time with one another doing various activities. The atmosphere is very happy and welcoming, and there is always something going on. The staff go above and beyond for all of the people we support. The team is very consistent, strong and long term, having worked here for over ten years.” Manager, Birch Hall
