Support for adults with mental health
At Lifeways, we believe recovery is always possible with the right support. Over the past 30 years, we've supported thousands of people affected by mental ill health to live fulfilling lives in their communities with greater independence.
From mental health supported living and residential care to specialist recovery services, we provide tailored support that helps people move forward with choice, opportunity and hope.
Our approach is built on a recovery-focused ethos that sees strengths and potential, not just a diagnosis. By working collaboratively, we deliver the right support, at the right time, in the right way and always tailored to each person’s journey.
Every member of our mental health team is skilled and compassionate, balancing positive risk-taking while developing individual confidence and resilience, supporting people to achieve their goals in a meaningful, safe way.
Support plans are carefully co-produced with individuals, families and professionals, and reviewed regularly to celebrate progress and adapt to changing needs ensuring everyone’s voice is heard.
We use the internationally recognised CHIME recovery framework to guide our mental health support:
- Connectedness – building relationships and community links
- Hope – fostering optimism for the future
- Identity – supporting self-discovery and self-worth
- Meaning – helping people find purpose in life
- Empowerment – enabling choice and independence
Recovery from certain types of mental ill health is a journey of self-discovery and personal growth, often involving transitions through many different stages. Our aim is to be there for people along their recovery pathway, creating the opportunity for people to live their best possible lives with purpose in their local communities.
I’m just loving life at the minute, and I can’t thank my family, my friends, and the staff enough for helping me out. Now, I can’t wait to see what the future is like.

Specialist mental health recovery with SIL
We believe too many people remain in hospitals or secure settings when they could thrive in the community. Our SIL service bridges that gap, with our support model designed to empower people and to challenge and break the dependencies and expectations that can result from more traditional delivery models.
Offering purpose-built or refurbished flats in small, secure blocks, with 24/7 on-site support, SIL enables individuals with enduring mental health needs to transition earlier from institutional care into their own home.
With SIL, people build independence while still having the structure and support they need to succeed. Whether someone is managing trauma, substance use, or transitioning from secure settings, we provide personalised care that promotes wellbeing, inclusion and independence.
