Type of property
At Birch Tree Place apartments, people benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, while having peace and quiet when they need it too.
Birch Tree Place apartments provide the perfect blend of shared space and independent living. Being in a shared building means that people can benefit from a network of friends and staff, as well as having peace and quiet when they need it too.
The building has sixteen apartments, each with one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen and living room, and a bathroom with a shower. There are four accessible apartments, which come equipped with a wet room style ensuite with sliding doors, which can be accessed from both the bedroom and the hallway.
There’s an accessible garden with a patio and a BBQ for people to use when the weather is good. Pets are welcome too - we already have a gerbil, a fish and a hamster living here.
Assistive technology is fitted as standard to give you peace of mind. The building has CCTV throughout, exit buttons on all doors, a nurse call point in each apartment and an intercom system.
Valued in your community
At Birch Tree Place, we place people’s personal interests, needs and aspirations at the heart of absolutely everything we do. We are in a peaceful residential area with a range of rural walks - Bartley Green or Woodgate Valley Country Park are popular destinations.
For people who like to stay active, we have year-round access to Northfield Pool and Fitness Centre. Avid readers can visit Bartley Green Library.
Neighbouring Halesowen offers Shipleys Amusement Centre, Cornbow Shopping Centre, a library and high-street banks, while Merry Hill Shopping Centre also offers larger shops and an Odeon Cinema.
Nearby Birmingham has a larger range of amenities, including the Thinktank Science Museum, the Bullring Shopping Centre, O2 Academy, Sealife Centre, and a number of theatres and art galleries.
Living at this service
Birch Tree Place is ideal for a mature person who likes to socialise. People choose how they spend their time - it’s a busy service where everyone has hobbies and stays active.
People enjoy walking in the local area, socialising, gardening, bingo, volunteering at the local food bank, going to the gym, clubbing, shopping, listening to music, watching television and being in the community. One of the people we support here has won a silver medal playing hockey at the Special Olympics.
“There is a great atmosphere at Birch Tree Place. The people we support have created a strong and friendly community amongst themselves. One of the women here has commented that she likes living here because the staff are respectful and she feels really safe.” Manager, Birch Tree Place
