Borella Road
Life-changing support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities.
Type of property
At Borella Road people are supported to live happy, independent lives.
The three-bedroom semi-detached house has a kitchen, dining room, lounge area, conservatory, and a shared bathroom with a bath and shower. The downstairs bedroom is wheelchair accessible, and comes with a wet room style ensuite bathroom.
At Borella Road, there is an accessible garden with a patio for people to spend time relaxing outside when the weather is good.
Valued in your community
Borella Road is in West Derby, with its vibrant cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops, and a library. For people who like to stay active, there’s a gym and swimming pool at Peter Lloyd Leisure Centre.
Liverpool is easily accessible from the property. Here, people can enjoy numerous museums and art galleries, Liverpool ONE Shopping Centre, the Liverpool Empire, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and Imagine That Science and Discovery Centre. And we’re spoilt for choice for beautiful walks - the docks, Toxteth Park, Wavertree Botanic Gardens and Sefton Park are just a small selection.
Liverpool is also home to The Reader Organisation - a charity specialising in shared reading to improve mental wellbeing. Located in Calderstones Park, people can visit the Reader Cafe or the Storybarn to join shared reading sessions, where stories are read aloud and then discussed.
Living at this service
Borella Road is ideal for a mature woman with learning disabilities. We currently support three women here aged between 55 and 67, who live with learning disabilities, Down's syndrome and early onset dementia.
One person enjoys being out of the house and likes going to the park. Another person has a good level of independence. She takes regular trips to Southport and likes to socialise. Another person we support here likes playing with dolls and prams, and watching soaps on the television.
People who live here also enjoy listening to music, walking, karaoke, cooking, swimming, bingo, and being in the community. People choose how they spend their time - day trips to Southport and holidays to Benidorm are favourites.
“Borella Road has a very committed and settled staff team. They have worked there for a long time, and the people we support enjoy this consistency. The house is homely and friendly when you walk in. It’s a relaxed place to live and work - it’s close to all amenities, is peaceful and calm.” Manager, Borella Road
