Bulwell
Type of property
Bulwell is a welcoming and supportive residential home for adults with a range of care needs. The large property has twenty-two bedrooms, a number of which are wheelchair accessible. Each apartment has an ensuite, some with shower cubicles, some wet room style, as well as four shared bathrooms within the property.
The home is designed to promote both independence and community living, with three kitchens, two dining rooms and five comfortable living rooms where people can relax, socialise or enjoy their own space. The kitchens also provide a great opportunity for people to develop everyday life skills, such as preparing meals and building confidence in daily routines.
There is also generous outdoor space, including an accessible shared garden that offers a calm and relaxing place to spend time outdoors. The layout of the home means there is always something going on, while still allowing people the freedom to choose how they spend their day.
Valued in your community
Bulwell is set within a vibrant market town on the River Leen, in the northwest of Nottingham and is just a short walk from a range of local shops, cafés, pubs and a post office. Being so close to Nottingham, with excellent transport links, means people also have easy access to a wide variety of attractions, including shopping centres, cinemas, museums, galleries and live entertainment.
Whether it’s a quiet coffee in the local area or a day out in the city, there are plenty of opportunities for people to stay connected to the community and enjoy new experiences.
Living at this service
Bulwell provides support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions and acquired brain injuries. It is home to a diverse group of adults, each with their own interests, routines and personal goals. Some people may at times display behaviours that challenge, and we take a calm, person-centred approach to help build confidence, independence and a sense of control in daily life.
Everyone is encouraged to make their own choices about how they spend their time and supported to enjoy a wide range of activities, from music, cooking and swimming to festivals, holidays and community events.
At the heart of the service is a dedicated and experienced team who take the time to get to know each person as an individual. They work closely with families and professionals to provide consistent, compassionate support, helping people to feel safe, valued and able to live fulfilling lives.
At Bulwell, we support individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations. We encourage an independent way of living, in a homely environment.
