Type of property
At Centaur Court apartments, people come together as a community. Living in this shared building means people benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, as well as enjoying independence in their own apartment.
The building has thirteen one-bedroom apartments, each with an open-plan kitchen and living room, and a bathroom with a bath. Centaur Court also has an accessible garden with BBQ for people to use when the weather is good.
Valued in your community
Centaur Court is in a residential area with peaceful surroundings, where people can enjoy beautiful countryside walks.
The local area has cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as a post office, Pendle Hippodrome Theatre, high-street banks and a library. For people who like to stay active, Pendle Leisure Centre provides year-round access to a gym and swimming pool.
Nearby Burnley provides access to a bowling alley, the Reel Cinema, Charter Walk Shopping Centre, Buzz Bingo, Townley Hall, and Queen Street Mill Textile Museum.
Blackburn is easily accessible from the property, and offers the Empire Theatre, museums and art galleries, a Vue cinema, Planet Ice for skating, the Mall Shopping Centre and Market, and many historical landmarks. There’s the Royal Blackburn Hospital too, which has specialist services for adult mental illness, stroke, dementia, and occupational therapy.
People also like to visit Preston, which has a range of vibrant attractions including St George’s and Fishergate shopping centres, an Odeon cinema, and the Creative Space Centre - the UK’s largest multi-sensory centre for people with special needs. There are three sensory rooms, all with modern lighting and sound projection equipment, a social and eating area and beautiful gardens.
Living at this service
Centaur Court is ready to welcome someone new. People living here enjoy walking, shopping, listening to music, watching television, volunteering, gaming, gardening, socialising, swimming, watching football, and being in the community.
At Centaur Court, people choose how they spend their time. We hold bi-monthly meetings to discuss what activities people would like to do. Day trips to Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Blackburn, and local museums are favourites. We’ve even been on canal trips as a group.
“At Centaur Court, the apartments all have lovely views of the railway and Pendle Hill. The area is very quiet but is still close to all amenities. The staff are all long standing and have created a fun and friendly atmosphere for the people we support.” Manager, Centaur Court
