Church Street Warrington
Type of property
Church Street is a development of four single-occupancy apartments plus a shared house where people with mental health conditions are welcomed and supported to live independent and happy lives.
There’s a vacancy in one of the flats, which has a kitchen, bedroom, lounge and separate bathroom with walk-in shower. The apartment is self-contained and would suit someone who is older and enjoys a quiet lifestyle. Ideally, someone who has an element of independence but requires support with activities of daily living, such as budgeting and who would socialise with other people we support but would be just as happy spending time alone.
Living at this service
Currently, five ladies are supported at Church Street, aged between 34 and 58 years old. They are independent in cooking but have support for other aspects of daily living, such as cleaning and shopping. In this service the atmosphere is quiet and people like to keep themselves to themselves.
The ladies who we support like to relax and watch television and stick to their weekly routine of shopping and activities of daily living supported by staff. Some have support in the community to go shopping and out for meals, and the support team also encourage group activities such as going to the cinema, enjoying a meal together or attending parties.
Valued in your community
Church Street is within walking distance of Warrington town centre, which offers a variety of retail facilities, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There are pubs across the road from the service that serve food and drinks, and there are several large supermarkets close by.
Warrington Museum & Art Gallery displays artefacts from around the world, plus archaeological finds and paintings. Gulliver’s World family theme park is nearby, as is leafy Sankey Valley Country Park which offers a canal, an abundance of wildlife, paths and sculptures to enjoy. Transport links are excellent and both Liverpool and Manchester are within easy reach.
“Church Street is a calm and quiet service, where people are supported to live fulfilling lives as independently as possible. The staff team have worked at the service for many years and are committed to building positive and trusting relationships with those they support. The flat available is in great location for the town centre and would be ideal for someone wanting to improve their independence skills.” Manager, Church Street
