Living at this service
Elliots is suitable for an adult with autism.
One person here enjoys making models and going to the model shop for more materials. Another likes bowling, going to the gym, the cinema or the theatre, and being on his laptop. Another enjoys playing on the PlayStation, pool, snooker, chess, and doing spelling bees. One woman likes going out to the internet cafe, restaurants and the toy shop.
At Elliots, people choose how they spend their time. Trips to the coast, the zoo, tourist attractions, Lincoln and Norwich are favourites.
“At Elliots we support people with autism. Support is given on a one to one basis and every person we support has an individual activity schedule to support with life skills and activities including tasks such as cooking, housekeeping and general health and safety. The people we support have dignity champions and safety champions too. All staff work together to provide a warm, calm and low arousal atmosphere. Our support staff act as key workers who establish a genuine relationship with the people we support and over time a sincere and caring relationship.”
