Living at this service
The people we support here are aged between 24 and 52 and live with learning disabilities, epilepsy, autistic spectrum disorder, and Fragile X syndrome. One man likes going to the gym and to music classes. He is very routine based and makes his own plans independently. Others enjoy going to the cinema, being in the sensory room, and going for a drive in the car. The woman we support at Embla Walk enjoys staying in her comfort zone and visiting places she is familiar with, including the local shops and going out for lunch.
People have varied interests including listening to music, watching television, shopping, cooking and baking, gardening, walking, swimming, gaming, socialising and being in the community.
At Embla Walk, people choose how they spend their time. Trips to Blackpool, Southport, and the coast are favourites.
“Embla Walk is very close to the centre but in a quiet area. There is a large supermarket just over the road. The house is in a great condition and the people we support get along really well. The staff also enjoy the atmosphere in the house.” Manager, Embla Walk
