At Fossdale people are welcomed and supported to live independent lives.

Fossdale is an attractive detached bungalow with four bedrooms plus a staff bedroom for night support. There’s a spacious lounge with a dining area, kitchen, laundry room and conservatory. There are two bathrooms, one is a wet-room and one has a bath. 
Outside there’s a lovely garden with a patio area for everyone to enjoy.  

Assistive technology can be tailored to suit the needs of each person. There is level access into the bungalow.

Living at this service

Life at Fossdale is suitable for people with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and mental health conditions. 

This is a female-only service and the ladies living here are all aged over 80, so we are ready welcome another older lady to the service. 

The ladies here enjoy a quiet pace of life but also get out and about in the community as much as possible. They enjoy shopping, cooking, gardening and day trips. The service is close to Leyland and trips here for lunch are popular.

Fossdale is located in a pleasant residential area near Moss Side, less than two miles from Leyland. There are convenience stores, cafes and takeaways within walking distance.

Leyland is the closest town, with cafes, pubs, a library, a post office, restaurants, shops, high-street banks, South Ribble Museum and Exhibition Centre, and the British Commercial Vehicle Museum. For people who like to stay active, Leyland Leisure Centre provides year-round access to a gym and swimming pool, or there are beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside.

People also like to visit Preston, with its larger amenities. There’s St George’s and Fishergate Shopping Centres, the Harris Museum, art gallery and library, a Vue cinema, and Preston Rock n Bowl.
