Living at this service
We understand that each person is unique and we encourage everyone to choose their own lifestyle While some prefer the reassurance which comes from a highly structured daily routine, others enjoy a varied and enjoyable programme of activities both within the home and in the local community.
We actively encourage activities which build confidence and allow people to develop life skills such as shopping, planning menus and personal hygiene. Many individuals attend courses at local colleges such as IT, art and cookery, while others undertake voluntary work and enjoy activities such as horse riding, swimming, bowling, line dancing and going to pubs, clubs and restaurants.
We also enable people to go on holidays – a great way to expand their horizons.
“We understand how important it is to treat each of our residents as an individual and to get to know, understand and respect their experiences, interests and dreams. The residents love going out into the community and enjoy regular visits to the cinema and bowling alley, often followed by a meal out.”
