Valued in your community
At Homewood Road, we are fortunate to be located in a vibrant residential area with easy access to Manchester. The local area has cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as a post office and a library. Wythenshawe Park and Gardens is a beautiful, large space for people to walk and relax when the weather is good.
In nearby Manchester, there are lots of places to visit, including the Arndale Centre and Trafford Centres for shopping, Sea Life Manchester, the Opera House, an Odeon cinema, theatres, museums, art galleries and bowling alleys. There’s also the Coronation Street Tour in Media City, Salford. For people who like to stay active, Manchester provides year-round access to a number of gyms and swimming pools.
Living at this service
Homewood Road is ideal for a friendly man between 50 and 70 years old. The people we support here like to stay active and go out of the house, so someone with a similar outlook is very welcome here. The people we support here are both men and women aged between 60 and 70, with learning disabilities and autism.
At Homewood Road, people enjoy spending time with family, watching television, shopping, knitting, arts and crafts, gardening, bingo, driving, walking, cooking, listening to music, socialising, and being in the community.
People at Homewood Road choose how they spend their time. From regular trips out for lunch, people also enjoy going to the coast - Blackpool, Morcombe, Southport and Formby are firm favourites.
“Homewood Road is in the lovely area of Northenden, which is very quiet and friendly. There’s a lot going on just a short distance away. The house itself is unique - it’s big and has a gorgeous garden. The atmosphere is calm and friendly. All the people we support here are unique and the staff enjoy being with them.” Manager, Homewood Road
