Type of property
Huntsman is a bungalow where people are supported to live happy, independent lives.
The four-bedroom, semi-detached property has level access. There is a kitchen, an open-plan dining room and lounge area, a laundry room and two communal living spaces.
At Huntsman, there is an accessible garden with a patio for people to spend time relaxing outside when the weather is good.
Valued in your community
Huntsman is in West Derby, with its vibrant cafes, pubs, restaurants, and shops. We’re close to Croxteth Walled Gardens, which has beautiful walks, a petting farm and Croxteth Hall.
For people who like to stay active, there’s a gym at Lifestyles Cardinal Heenan, or a swimming pool at Peter Lloyd Leisure Centre.
Liverpool is easily accessible from the property. Here, people can enjoy numerous museums and art galleries, Liverpool ONE Shopping Centre, the Liverpool Empire, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and Imagine That Science and Discovery Centre. And we’re spoilt for choice for beautiful walks - the docks, Toxteth Park, Wavertree Botanic Gardens and Sefton Park are just a small selection.
Liverpool is also home to The Reader Organisation - a charity specialising in shared reading to improve mental wellbeing. Located in Calderstones Park, people can visit the Reader Cafe or the Storybarn to join shared reading sessions, where stories are read aloud and then discussed.
Living at this service
At Huntsman, we support both men and women ranging in age from 30 to 45. They live with diverse needs including mental health conditions, deafness, learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and cerebral palsy. Someone of a similar age is very welcome here.
The people who live here enjoy shopping, watching television, cars, pamper days, visiting the day centre, sensory activities, listening to music, walking, karaoke, socialising and being in the community. People like taking part in activities in the house, as well as having parties and visiting tourist attractions as a group.
People choose how they spend their time - day trips to Chester Zoo, the Blue Planet Aquarium, and Knowsley Safari Park are favourites.
“Huntsman is a very positive and happy house, with a great atmosphere from both the people we support and the staff. It is always a lovely place to walk into, especially considering the high-complex needs of the people here.” Manager, Huntsman
