Valued in your community
At Poachers Lane, we are located in vibrant Latchford East. The local area has many cafes, pubs, restaurants, and shops, as well as Westry Park and Paddington Meadows.
Warrington is easily accessible from the property, and offers larger amenities and attractions including the Pyramid art centre, Golden Square Shopping Centre, Superbowl UK for bowling, and an Odeon Luxe cinema. For people who like to stay active, the Village Gym Warrington provides year-round access to a gym, swimming pool, activities and group classes.
In nearby Liverpool, people can enjoy museums and art galleries, Liverpool ONE Shopping Centre, the Liverpool Empire, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Imagine That Science and Discovery Centre. And there are plenty of beautiful walks - the docks, Toxteth Park, Wavertree Botanic Gardens and Sefton Park are just a small selection.
Liverpool is also home to The Reader Organisation - a charity specialising in shared reading to improve mental wellbeing. Located in Calderstones Park, people can visit the Reader Cafe or the Storybarn to join shared reading sessions, where stories are read aloud and then discussed.
Manchester also provides interesting places to visit, including the Arndale Centre and Trafford Centres for shopping, Sea Life Manchester, the Opera House, theatres, museums, and art galleries. There’s also the Coronation Street Tour in Media City, Salford.
Living at this service
Poachers Lane is ideal for a woman of any age. The women we support here have different mental health needs. They enjoy their routines, keeping busy and peace and quiet, so someone with a similar outlook is very welcome here.
Their interests include shopping, working, cooking, listening to music, watching television, going to the cinema, arts and crafts, socialising, and spending time in the community.
At Poachers Lane, people choose how they spend their time. Day trips to Southport or Wales are favourites and each year, people enjoy going to Blackpool as a group to enjoy a five course meal and a show.
“Poachers Lane is a very homely, lovely place with lots of support. The staff enjoy working here as it is small and accessible. There is a very happy atmosphere and the residents feel safe and secure.” Manager, Poachers Lane
