Portway House
Life-changing support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and acquired brain injuries.
Type of property
You’d have to visit Portway House to really appreciate its modern, stylish and spacious apartments. The quality surroundings are just one of the reasons that people are so proud to live here.
There are fifteen one-bedroom homes in total, just over half fully accessible. Each property comes with an open-plan kitchen and lounge, as well as an accessible wet room. Assistive technology is tailored to provide unseen support and is underpinned by the reassurance of CCTV and an intercom system too.
Valued in your community
At Portway House, we’re fortunate to be located just a short walk from Stafford’s vibrant town centre, and many people enjoy the rewards and responsibility that comes with working or volunteering in the local community.
And just as we encourage individuals to be involved at the heart of their community, we place their personal interests, needs and aspirations at the heart of absolutely everything we do. We listen first and foremost, embracing collaboration and co-production to improve quality of life whilst building their self-confidence and skills.
People choose how they spend their time. Regular trips to Drayton Manor Park and Trent Gardens are firm favourites in the Spring and Summer, whilst we enjoy year-round use of local leisure facilities such as the swimming and badminton at Stafford Leisure Centre. Our local Odeon, Queens Shopping Park and bowling at Tenpin Stafford are also popular destinations.
Living at this service
At Portway House, we support a group of people with diverse needs, ages and levels of independence. Some of the people we support here volunteer or have jobs in the local area. The staff team support some people to prepare and cook meals together, working towards different goals.
“At Portway House, we support people’s day to day living because we want people to be happy in their lives. For people thinking about coming here, I’d say ‘You’re welcome here and we’re here for you.” Manager, Portway House
