Rake Lane
Life-changing support for adults with mental health conditions,
Type of property
At Rake Lane apartments, people come together as a community. Living in this shared building means people benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, as well as enjoying their independence, peace and quiet when they need it too.
The property has eight one-bedroom apartments, each with a bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and lounge area. There is assistive technology including an intercom system and apartment buzzers.
Rake Lane also has an accessible garden with a BBQ for people to spend time relaxing outside when the weather is good.
Valued in your community
At Rake Lane, we are fortunate to be located on the picturesque New Brighton coast, just a short stroll from the beach and promenade.
The local area has many cafes, pubs, restaurants, and shops, as well as Wallasey Central Library, the Light Cinema, a miniature golf course, Marine Point retail and leisure park, Riverside Bowl and Laser Quest, a model boating lake, and the Floral Pavilion Theatre. For people who like to stay active, Guinea Gap Leisure Centre provides year-round access to a gym and swimming pool.
Liverpool is easily accessible from the property. Here, people can enjoy numerous museums and art galleries, Liverpool ONE Shopping Centre, the Liverpool Empire, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and Imagine That Science and Discovery Centre. And we’re spoilt for choice for beautiful walks - the docks, Toxteth Park, Wavertree Botanic Gardens and Sefton Park are just a small selection.
Liverpool is also home to The Reader Organisation - a charity specialising in shared reading to improve mental wellbeing. Located in Calderstones Park, people can visit the Reader Cafe or the Storybarn to join shared reading sessions, where stories are read aloud and then discussed.
Living at this service
Rake Lane is ideal for someone with a good level of independence.
People who live here enjoy walking, shopping, cooking, bingo, listening to music, watching television, volunteering, gardening, swimming, football, cricket and being in the community. Every morning, some people even go swimming in the sea!
At Rake Lane, people choose how they spend their time - people particularly enjoy going to the beach, Chester Zoo or Blackpool. We also go to the pub as a group.
“At Rake Lane, people feel valued and supported. There is a very sociable and happy atmosphere - everyone enjoys sitting in the garden together in the summer.” Manager, Rake Lane
