Ridgewood
Life-changing support for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions.
Type of property
Ridgewood is a semi-detached house where people are supported to live independently.
There are two bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen and living room, and two bathrooms - one with a bath and shower, and one with a toilet and sink. Ridgewood also has an accessible garden with a patio where people can relax when the weather is good.
Valued in your community
At Ridgewood, the local area has pubs, restaurants, parks, and shops. For people who like to stay active, Parr Swimming and Fitness Centre provides year-round access to a gym and swimming pool, or people can enjoy walking in Sherdley Park.
Nearby St Helens offers a range of larger amenities including a Cineworld Cinema, St Helen’s Theatre Royal, North West Museum of Road Transport, and Church Square Shopping Centre.
Warrington is easily accessible from the property, and offers attractions including the Pyramid art centre, Golden Square Shopping Centre, Superbowl UK for bowling, and an Odeon Luxe cinema.
Liverpool also gives people access to museums and art galleries, Liverpool ONE Shopping Centre, the Liverpool Empire, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Imagine That Science and Discovery Centre. And there are plenty of beautiful walks - the docks, Toxteth Park, Wavertree Botanic Gardens and Sefton Park are just a small selection.
Liverpool is home to The Reader Organisation - a charity specialising in shared reading to improve mental wellbeing. Located in Calderstones Park, people can visit the Reader Cafe or the Storybarn to join shared reading sessions, where stories are read aloud and then discussed.
Living at this service
Ridgewood is suitable for a woman aged between 40 and 60 years old. We currently support one woman here with learning disabilities. She enjoys going to the gym, visiting family, shopping and going to the disco.
People here like karaoke, listening to music, watching television, walking, swimming, bingo, socialising and being in the community.
At Ridgewood, people choose how they spend their time. Day trips to Blackpool and Southport are favourites.
“The people we support at Ridgewood are long-term residents that have made it feel very homely. The staff enjoy working here because the people are so friendly and busy - there is always a lot going on in the house.” Manager, Ridgewood
