Riverview
Life-changing support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and acquired brain injuries.
Type of property
At Riverview we empower people with learning disabilities, autism and other complex needs to live as independently as possible, to become integral members of the community and to achieve their goals and aspirations through individual care pathways.
This four-bedroom detached house has a kitchen, two living rooms, a conservatory, a utility room, a laundry room, one communal wetroom-style bathroom and two bathrooms with a toilet and sink.
Riverview has an accessible garden with a patio for spending time outdoors when the weather is good.
Valued in your community
Riverview is in a residential area with pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, takeaways, a Barclays Bank, a library and a post office. At Riverview, people choose how they spend their time. Day trips to the local coasts are favourites.
For people who like to stay active, Manningtree Sports Centre provides year-round access to exercise classes, sports courts and a gym. The nearest swimming pool is at Leisure World Colchester. People also enjoy walking in the local parks - Colchester Castle Park is a popular destination.
Nearby Colchester offers the Turner Rise Retail Park, Culver Square Shopping Centre, Jump Street Colchester for trampolining, Tenpin Colchester for bowling, an Odeon Cinema, Hollytrees Museum, St John’s Abbey Gate, and Colchester Castle Museum.
Living at this service
We are ready to welcome a woman who likes to socialise to join the women we support here. Aged between 40 and 60, they live with learning disabilities and other complex needs.
One person enjoys listening to music, doing her nails, beauty, and dancing. She likes to wear different outfits throughout the day. Another likes sensory activities, being around animals and swimming and another resident enjoys video games, painting her nails, dying her hair, talking with people and making jokes.
“Riverview is a very spacious house. It’s peaceful yet very uplifting with lots of music being played each day. The staff are very caring and willing to go above and beyond for the women we support. This house has a very good energy that you feel as soon as you walk in - very welcoming and well maintained with a strong sense of home.” Manager, Riverview
