Springside
Type of property
At Springside apartments, people benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, while having peace and quiet when they need it too.
There are six self-contained apartments, each with a bedroom, large kitchen, lounge area and bathroom. One has a bath while all the other apartments have a shower. All white goods are included, as well as an alert system for people leaving and entering the apartments and an emergency call pendant.
Outside there is a central grassy area where people like to meet and enjoy BBQs in the summer. Football, arts and crafts are also popular activities.
Living at this service
Life at Springside is suitable for people with learning disabilities or autism.
We are ready to welcome a person of any age who has some independence and would like to be supported to learn new life skills. Someone sociable would be ideal as everyone here loves getting together and planning activities.
One of the people we support volunteers at a local charity shop, and everyone enjoys bowling, going out for walks, shopping and planning day trips. The people living here also enjoy 1:1 activities with their support staff, such as swimming, cooking, going to day centres and college.
Valued in your community
Springside is in the residential area of High Heath, a few miles north of Walsall. The local supermarket, chemist, steakhouse restaurant and takeaways are all within five minutes walk. Pelsall is about a 15-minute walk away and has lots of shops, a post office, pubs, barbers, cafes and a doctor’s surgery.
There’s a great local farm shop a short walk away, and a lovely park across the road which is great for walks and features outdoor gym equipment. There are great transport links by bus to Bloxwich, Walsall and Wolverhampton.
“Springside is like a community within a community, and it’s not just somewhere to live it’s also a place to learn. The staff love supporting everyone to be more independent and expand on all their skills.”
Manager, Springside
