At St Bede’s Lodge apartments, people benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, while having peace and quiet when they need it too. The service consists of five one-bedroom apartments, each with a large bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and living room. Outside there’s a shared garden for everyone to enjoy. St Bede’s Lodge is on the same site as our Birch Hall service, and the residents enjoy socialising and getting together for group activities.

Living at this service

Life at St Bede’s Lodge is suitable for people with learning disabilities, brain injuries, mental health conditions or autism. We are ready to welcome someone new, of any age, who needs personalised support in a sociable and welcoming setting. The people we support here are between 30 and 60 and have a wide range of interests and hobbies. All the people supported on this site love getting together so someone who enjoys group activities would be ideal.

The current vacancy is an upstairs apartment so is suitable for someone with good mobility.

The area has pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops, a post office, and a library. For people who like to stay active, Darwen Leisure Centre has exercise classes, a swimming pool and a gym. Nearby Blackburn offers the Empire Theatre, museums and art galleries, a Vue cinema, Planet Ice for skating, the Mall Shopping Centre and Market, Tenpin Blackburn for bowling, and many historical landmarks.
