Strathmore
Life-changing support for adults with mental health conditions.
Type of property
At Strathmore Road apartments, people come together as a community. Living in this shared building means people benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, as well as enjoying independence in their own apartment.
The building has thirteen one-bedroom apartments, each with an open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge area, and a bathroom with a shower. There is also an accessible garden for people to spend time relaxing outside when the weather is good. This service has recently been refurbished to a high standard and provides a homely and modern environment.
Small pets are allowed - we currently have two cats within the apartments.
Valued in your community
Strathmore Road is in Fairfield, with its vibrant cafes, pubs, restaurants, and shops. We’re opposite Newsham Park, which is a lovely spot for walking, fishing and model boating on the lake.
For people who like to stay active, Lifestyles Peter Lloyd Leisure Centre provides year-round access to a gym and swimming pool.
Liverpool is easily accessible from the property. Here, people can enjoy numerous museums and art galleries, Liverpool ONE Shopping Centre, the Liverpool Empire, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and Imagine That Science and Discovery Centre. And we’re spoilt for choice for beautiful walks - the docks, Toxteth Park, Wavertree Botanic Gardens and Sefton Park are just a small selection.
Liverpool is also home to The Reader Organisation - a charity specialising in shared reading to improve mental wellbeing. Located in Calderstones Park, people can visit the Reader Cafe or the Storybarn to join shared reading sessions, where stories are read aloud and then discussed.
Living at this service
At Strathmore Road, we support men with mental health needs. They enjoy peace and quiet and have a good level of independence, so another man with a similar outlook is very welcome.
The people who live here enjoy shopping, watching television, working, listening to music, and being in the community. One man here plays the guitar.
This service would suit someone with mental health needs who is ready to have their own flat plus the right level of support they need.
“Strathmore Road is in a lovely area - located in a park, with great access to all amenities. The staff enjoy working with the people we support. While people here have an excellent level of independence, they also have the security of having support available 24/7.” Manager, Strathmore Road
