The Avenue is a large detached house in the heart of Taunton, where people are supported to live happy and independent lives.

The house has four large, en-suite bedrooms, and communal areas including a living room, dining room, kitchen and laundry room. Each en-suite has a toilet, sink, bath and over-bath shower. Outside there’s a garden that everyone can access and enjoy.

Life at The Avenue is suitable for people with learning disabilities or autism. We are ready to welcome a man aged over 40 to join the three men currently living here. This service is perfect for someone who likes to spend time with others but also has their own space in a quiet environment.

The men here enjoy lots of different activities and interests, including watching television, gaming and cooking. They also love to get out into the community – going to lunch, going for walks and trips to the coast are firm favourites.

The Avenue is in a residential area in the centre of Taunton, with easy access to all the amenities of the town. There are pubs, restaurants, cafes and takeaways on the doorstep, along with banks, post offices, supermarkets and high street stores. Taunton is also home to the popular Vivary Park, The Museum of Somerset, theatres and cinemas.

There are lots of outdoor activities available nearby, including watersports, horse riding and hot air balloon rides. Taunton is perfectly placed to access the beautiful Quantock Hills and there are a number of public parks in the area for walking.
