The Barn
Life-changing support for adults with learning disabilities.
Type of property
At The Barn, people are supported to live independent lives.
This four-bedroom converted barn on a quiet cul de sac has an open-plan kitchen and dining room with patio doors that lead onto the garden. Through a set of large glass doors you’ll find a large living room with a traditional fireplace. There’s a laundry room and two communal bathrooms too, and a second large living room upstairs.
The accessible garden has a patio for people to use when the weather is good.

Living at this service
We are ready to welcome a confident and vocal person who enjoys a busy atmosphere with lots of noise.
The women we support here are aged between 35 and 55 years old, who live with learning disabilities. All of the people we support here are very vocal and have strong personalities.
One woman likes spending time with her boyfriend, going to concerts and the cinema, and being in the community. The second woman enjoys shopping, cleaning, chatting and playing dominoes. The third woman here likes anything to do with desserts - especially cake, and going on holiday.
At The Barn, people choose how they spend their time. Trips to the coast and local tourist attractions are favourites. One person is currently arranging a holiday to Disneyland Paris.
People’s hobbies including gaming, listening to music, watching tribute bands, karaoke, watching television, walking, cooking and bingo.
“The Barn is a spacious house that has enough room for everyone to find a quiet corner by themselves. The atmosphere is very social in this busy household - the environment is best described as loud and happy. We are close to the town centre and have easy access to everything, or you can go for walks near the house. ” Manager, The Barn
