The Barn at Heath Farm
Life-changing residential care for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions.
Type of property
The Barn is a residential service where people are supported to live independently.
This large, ten-bedroom house has two kitchens, two living rooms, a laundry room, and two conservatories. There are also three bathrooms - two with a bath, and one with an additional shower - and one wet room-style bathroom. The property also has a self-contained apartment which has one bedroom, a living room, an en-suite with a toilet and sink, and a wet room-style bathroom.
Both properties at The Barn have their own accessible gardens for people to relax in when the weather is good, as well as an outdoor gym. We even have two rabbits as pets here.
Assistive technology is available in every bedroom upon request.
Valued in your community
Heath Farm is in a peaceful rural area with good links to amenities.
For people who like to stay active, the leisure centre provides year-round access to exercise classes, a swimming pool and a gym. People also enjoy walking in the local area.
Neighbouring Lincoln has all necessary amenities including cafes, restaurants, high-street banks, St Marks Shopping Centre, the Museum of Lincolnshire Life, Lincoln Castle, theatres, art galleries, an Odeon Cinema, and Lincoln Bowl bowling alley.
Living at this service
The Barn is ready to welcome someone new. The people we support here are two women and seven men, aged between 30 and 65. This is a busy, lively environment where people like to be sociable.
At The Barn, people enjoy shopping, listening to music, computers, gaming, football, bowling, swimming, cooking, karaoke, gardening, bingo, walking, watching television, socialising, and being in the community.
People choose how they want to spend their time - day trips to the coast and Norfolk are favourites.
“Heath Farm is a specialised centre for people with autism and learning disabilities. It is in a rural setting with green, open spaces which are quiet and calm. Each property has its own vehicle which helps people to access the community whenever they like. There is a behaviour team onsite, headed by a psychologist, that meets with residents every week. All of the managers have worked here for over twenty years, giving them excellent experience in helping the people we support to gain the best life and independence possible. There is a real community feel across all the properties, making it a safe and happy place to live.” Manager, Heath Farm
