Type of property
At The Croft people are supported to live independent lives.
This three-bedroom semi-detached house has an open-plan kitchen and dining room, a living room, and a shared bathroom with a bath and shower. One of the bedrooms has an ensuite, and another has a sink.
The Croft has an accessible garden with a patio for people to relax in when the weather is good. We also have a resident budgie here.
Valued in your community
The Croft is in a peaceful residential area next to the Peak District. There are cafes, pubs, shops, and plenty of picturesque walks in the local area.
Glossop is the nearest village and offers larger amenities, as well as a library. For people who like to stay active, Glossop has a leisure centre and a swimming pool that provide year-round access to exercise classes, a swimming pool and a gym.
People also like to visit nearby Ashton-under-Lyne with the Arcades and Ladysmith shopping centres, high-street banks including NatWest, HSBC and Halifax, Portland Basin Museum, Hollywood Bowl Manchester for bowling, and a Cineworld Cinema.
Living at this service
The Croft is ready to welcome a woman over 40 years of age, with good mobility. The people we support here are women aged between 50 and 70, who live with mental health conditions and learning disabilities.
The women we support here enjoy going for coffee, driving in her car every day, spending some quiet time at home, going to the local day centre, playing cards with the staff, shopping, and having her hair and nails done.
People choose how they want to spend their time, enjoying socialising, karaoke, walking, bingo, eating out, watching television, and being in the community. Day trips to the coast and local tourist attractions are also enjoyed, with Blackpool a favourite destination.
“The Croft is a calm, happy and relaxed house - the people we support here have made it feel really welcoming. The area is good and close to both the countryside and all necessary amenities. The staff have a good relationship with everyone and they all enjoy working here.” Manager, The Croft
