Twitch Farm
Type of property
Twitch Farm is a bungalow where people are supported to live independent lives.
The house is split into two dwelling areas with separate bathrooms, bedrooms, lounge and dining areas, hallways and external doors. The only communal area is the kitchen and outdoor space which is a good-sized garden with greenhouse, summer house and patio area.
When you choose supported living, you’re choosing to live independently, safe and secure behind your own front door. There’s peace of mind in knowing the Lifeways team is on-hand, providing tailored support that helps people to lead more fulfilling lives, surrounded by like-minded people.
Living at this service
Life at Twitch Farm is suitable for people with learning disabilities, brain injuries, physical disabilities, autism or mental health conditions.
The bungalow has a very relaxed feeling and is ready to welcome someone who likes a relaxed and quiet environment, would like to go out on group trips or independently and who would like to access all the community and surrounding areas have to offer. Whoever moves in will be supported to build on their interests and skills both in the community and the home.
Valued in your community
Balderton is a small village with a few pubs, cafes and supermarkets. There’s also a church, library and a park with a nature reserve with lake and wildlife. There’s also a small shopping centre, chemists, hairdresser and a doctor’s surgery.
There are frequent buses into the town of Newark and the nearest bus stop is a two-minute walk from the service. The town of Newark is steeped in history and we have Newark Castle by the River Trent, a civil war museum and the popular royal market which is on three days a week. There is a sports centre, bowling alley, bingo hall and an Odeon cinema. Transport links in the local area are great and it’s easy to get to cities like Nottingham, Lincoln and York.
“We’re in the popular village of Balderton with lots of amenities and lovely places to walk. It’s a beautiful spacious bungalow set off from the roadside and has lovely surrounding gardens with ample parking. The service is calm and quiet but there is always humour and fun to be had. The staff team are very knowledgeable and receptive to the needs of the people we support. At Twitch Farm, we are passionate about building peoples’ skills and promoting independence in a safe, warm and caring environment.”
