Vicarage Court
Life-changing support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries or mental health conditions.
Type of property
At Vicarage Court apartments, people come together as a community. Living in this shared building means people benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, as well as the independence of having an apartment to make their own.
The building has seven two-bedroom apartments. Each apartment has a main bedroom, spare bedroom, kitchen, living room, and a bathroom with bath and shower. Vicarage Court also has a garden with a BBQ for people to use when the weather is good.
Valued in your community
At Vicarage Court, we are located in a residential area with peaceful surroundings. The local area has cafes, pubs and restaurants, as well as a post office and a library.
For people who like to stay active, Darwen Leisure Centre provides year-round access to a gym and swimming pool.
Blackburn is easily accessible from the property and offers the Empire Theatre, museums and art galleries, a Vue cinema, Planet Ice for skating, the Mall Shopping Centre and Market, Tenpin Blackburn for bowling, and many historical landmarks.
Nearby Preston also provides access to a range of vibrant cafes, restaurants, shops and attractions including St George’s and Fishergate shopping centres, and an Odeon cinema. There are a number of museums in the area too - Ribble Steam Railway and Museum is a popular choice.
Preston is also home to the Creative Space Centre - the UK’s largest multi-sensory centre for people with special needs. There are three sensory rooms, all with modern lighting and sound projection equipment, a social and eating area and beautiful gardens. This is a wonderful space for both children and adults to enjoy.
Living at this service
Vicarage Court is ready to welcome someone new to join the people we support here. People living here enjoy shopping, walking, listening to music, watching television, gardening, bingo, socialising, and being in the community.
At Vicarage Court, people choose how they spend their time. Day trips to Blackpool, the zoo, and Bury market are favourites. We have even been on holiday to Mexico and on a cruise together.
“Vicarage Court has some excellent long-standing staff who provide a lot of one-on-one support. All of the people we support here are very happy and close to each other, and enjoy spending time together.” Manager, Vicarage Court
