Yelland Road 1
Type of property
Yelland Road is a detached house where people are welcomed and supported to live independent lives.
The house has four bedrooms, two of which are used as staff sleep-in rooms for overnight support. One bedroom has an en-suite and there’s a shared wet-room style bathroom. On the ground floor there’s a large lounge, separate dining room and a spacious kitchen with a utility room.
Outside there’s a large garden with lawn and flowerbeds for everyone to enjoy.
Living at this service
Life at Yelland Road is suitable for people with learning disabilities, autism or acquired brain injuries.
There are two gentlemen living here, both aged over 50. They enjoy spending time in the community, attending local social clubs, going out for meals and day trips such as visiting the zoo. The home is very calm and quiet and both gentlemen enjoy spending time together watching movies and listening to music.
We are looking for another gentleman of a similar age who has similar interests. Someone who enjoys a peaceful atmosphere and spending lots of time out in the community would be ideal.
Valued in your community
Yelland Road is on the north coast of Devon, about four miles from Barnstaple. The villages of Fremington and Yelland are nearby, and within walking distance there are two shops, a post office and a chemist. There’s a bus stop right outside which takes you to Barnstaple or Bideford.
The stunning North Devon Coast is minutes away and there are plenty of beaches, coves and clifftop walks around the area. Appledore, Westward Ho! And Ilfracombe are all within easy reach. Barnstaple is a short drive away and has plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
“Yelland Road is a calm and friendly service. The people are supported to make their own choices each day. The staff team is small, and always strives to make the service the best it can be.”
Manager, Yelland Road
