Celebrating the Leadership of Amanda Brooke on International Women’s Day
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Lifeways is proud to recognise the leadership and achievements of Amanda Brooke, our Chief Transformation Officer and winner of last year’s Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care award in the Woman in Tech Excellence category. Amanda’s work reflects what this day stands for: breaking down barriers, driving innovation, and shaping a future where technology and compassion work hand in hand.
Since joining Lifeways in April 2023, Amanda has helped lead an organisation-wide transformation. Together with teams across our 10,000‑strong workforce, she has helped reshape our operating model, processes, governance, digital platforms, culture, and both our service and employee value propositions to improve how Lifeways operates, communicates, and delivers support.
At the heart of this transformation are two major platforms that have changed the way we work. Through a one team effort involving colleagues across the country, Amanda introduced Deputy, an e‑rostering app that gives support teams more flexibility over their work patterns while providing managers with accurate, real‑time data to plan staffing effectively.
Amanda also led the rollout of Nourish, our e-care management platform that replaces traditional paper-based care plans. Support workers can now record care notes in seconds using mobile devices, managers have instant visibility of updates, and the people we support can co-record their own care, encouraging greater engagement, autonomy, and person-centred practice.
A defining aspect of Amanda’s impact is her collaborative approach to leadership, working hand in hand with the entire Transformation Team. Together, they bring team members from across Lifeways to codesign new processes, refine tools, and embed changes in ways that are practical, supportive, and sustainable. This work reflects the collective expertise, commitment, and hands‑on contribution of the whole Transformation Team, who listen closely throughout implementation to build genuine ownership and enthusiasm for new ways of working. Together, Amanda and the team have helped turn digital transformation into something colleagues feel part of, rather than something done to them.
Amanda describes her approach to transformation in a way that reflects her commitment to supporting colleagues:
“My focus has always been on removing the noise and obstacles that get in the way of our colleagues doing what matters most: delivering high‑quality care and support, driving better outcomes and helping the people we support achieve what’s possible.”
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate Amanda not only for what she has achieved, but for how she leads: by creating opportunity, championing innovation, and inspiring others to be confident in driving change.
