cordage view grimsby lincolnshire

Cordage View, a new supported living service which will be home for up to 15 adults with physical and learning disabilities, has opened in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.

The purpose-built service is made up of 15 self-contained one-bedroom apartments.

It’s the result of a partnership between North East Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Golden Lane Housing, a landlord, and Living Ambitions, which is part of Lifeways.

Living Ambitions’ role in the partnership is to provide tailored, specialist support for the 15 individuals who will live at Cordage View.

The service was named Cordage View to pay homage to the coastal town’s former twine and net-making mill located nearby.

For its construction, the building received a £650,000 Department of Health grant to install technology to support independent living.

This means Cordage View is equipped with a futureproofed system that can continually be adapted for ever-changing needs.

Caela O’Hara, Area Operations Manager at Lifeways, of which Living Ambitions is a part, said:

“It’s been a pleasure welcoming people to their new apartments. We look forward to providing extraordinary support to create life-changing outcomes for people.”

Wendy Salt, Regional Director of the East Midlands at Lifeways, said:

“We are excited to be working with the North East Lincolnshire Council and Golden Lane Housing to welcome Cordage View to Grimsby’s community.

“It’s a privilege to be part of a project that benefits local people with physical and learning disabilities.”
