Craig settles in to his new home in our Walsall supported living service!

After Craig suffered a stroke last year, he needed regular support and prompting in his day-to-day living.

Yet for Craig, who’s in his forties, the support he received was not helping him grow his independence. He had been living in Birmingham in sheltered accommodation, seldom leaving his room.

Craig’s carers would assist him with his medication and microwaved meals.

Keen to make sure her brother got better support, Craig’s sister, Amanda, helped him move into Spring Lane, a Lifeways supported living service in nearby Walsall.

Spring Lane is made up of four bedrooms, with a kitchen, an open-plan lounge and dining area, a laundry room and two bathrooms. The service has an accessible garden.

Craig shares the property with three other men. As a supported living service, Craig has his independence – with support when needed.

Settled

“Craig is so settled and so are we as a family,” says Amanda.

“Spring Lane is so warming and welcoming - just walking through the door we knew it was a home from home for Craig. Nothing is too much trouble.

Amanda adds:

“Lifeways is 100% behind Craig living and having the best life possible normal whilst living in a supported living service.”

“We just can’t thank you all enough.”
