Double award win for Lifeways

What a way to end 2024! I can’t tell you how proud I was to see Lifeways win not one, but TWO awards at the LaingBuisson Awards on 21 November.
It’s hard to know where to begin. I’m told this is the first time Lifeways has won a LaingBuisson Award which are widely regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in the social care sector.
We were honoured to win the Specialist Care award for our exceptional ability to navigate the complexities of social care with expertise. The judges described our approach as “exemplifying excellence.” Then, we were thrilled to be named winners in Supported Living for our innovative staff development programme and effective use of the RADAR tool.
It's all about our people
The reason this recognition is so deeply meaningful is that it reflects the heart of Lifeways - our incredible people.
Every single day, our teams create moments that matter. They guide, care, and empower individuals to take steps towards independence, no matter how big or small.
Seeing our internal social feed light up with posts celebrating these milestones - whether it’s someone cooking their first meal alone or walking into their own home for the first time - fills me with immense pride.
Hearing families say how our teams have transformed life for their loved ones and themselves moves me profoundly. Knowing our work gives them hope and peace of mind is everything.
Since I joined in 2022, I’ve seen first-hand how our people tackle challenges head-on. The way they’ve embraced our transformation programme - designed to make Lifeways the employer and provider of choice in our sector - is nothing short of inspirational.
This award win is not the ending. It's a beginning. A celebration of what we’ve achieved and a vision of where we’re headed.
Together, we’ll keep raising the bar, breaking barriers, and creating a brighter future for the people we support, their families, and our teams.
