Four more amazing people we support are being treated to special experiences as part of Lifeways’ 30th anniversary celebrations.

Earlier this year, we asked our team members to nominate 30 people supported by Lifeways to enjoy an amazing experience on us.

From luxury getaways to football days out, museum trips and motoring dreams, the wishes are all about bringing joy and creating special memories. Here are our four amazing April winners:

Vicky’s luxury hotel stay

Vicky - a person we support and her support worker

Vicky, who lives at a supported living service in the North East, is heading off on a relaxing break at a luxury hotel – and she’s buzzing with excitement.

“I’ve been so lucky coming to live at Church View,” said Vicky (pictured right). “I wish my Mam and Dad could see me now. I can’t wait to go away!”

Her support worker Joyce couldn’t be happier for her.

“I could not have wished for a nicer person to win,” said Joyce. “Vicky is so thankful for everything we do to support her and all she wanted was a night away in a luxury hotel because she’s never been able to afford it herself. It’s lovely for her to receive such a wonderful prize, and I know she’ll really appreciate it.”

Steven’s trip to see Manchester United

Steven - a person we support at Lifeways and his support worker

Steven’s a lifelong Manchester United fan, and now his wish is coming true – a day out to see his favourite team play live at Old Trafford.

Steven (pictured left with Craig Taylor, an Area Manager who nominated him), lives at one of our supported living services in Worcestershire. He said: “When I was told, I felt amazing. It made me feel really special that I’d been thought about and actually got a wish granted.”

What’s he most looking forward to? “Everything,” he grinned. “But if I had to pick one thing, it’s seeing the players come out onto the pitch. I can’t wait to see the stadium and feel the atmosphere.”

Craig Taylor, who nominated Steven, said: “I was absolutely thrilled when I heard Steven’s wish had been granted. He was going through a tough time and I wanted to give him something positive to look forward to. He was over the moon when I told him, and he hasn’t stopped talking about it since. We’re both buzzing and can’t wait for the new season so we can get those tickets booked.”

Alex’s trip to Beamish Museum

Alex - a person we support with his support worker

Alex, who lives at a supported living service in the North East, has a real love for history and museums. So when it came to his wish, there was only one place he wanted to go – Beamish Living Museum.

Alex is looking forward to an annual pass and a day out at one of the museum’s events with his friend. He’s also planning to meet his Mum and Dad there so they can all enjoy the day together and have a meal. Before heading home, there’s one last stop on his list – the gift shop.

Talking to his keyworker Susan, Alex said: “We’ll all go back in time, back to our childhood.”

We’re thrilled to help make that happen.

Keith’s wheelie great car experience

Automobile enthusiast Keith is getting a dream car experience – and it’s a dream come true for the 73-year-old. He said: “I feel very happy and lucky. It means the world to me.”

Registered Manager Sheila Fielding nominated Keith. She said: “I am over the moon Keith was granted a wish to go to a car experience. Anyone who knows him will appreciate how much this will mean to him, he absolutely loves cars, and I am sure he will love the experience.”

Keep an eye out for more 30 Wishes stories as we celebrate our 30th anniversary year by making even more dreams come true.
