Four more wishes granted as Lifeways celebrates 30 years
As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, we’re proud to be making dreams come true for the people we support across the country.
Earlier this year, we committed to granting 30 wishes across 2025 and invited Lifeways colleagues to nominate people we support for a once-in-a-lifetime treat – something meaningful, fun, or unforgettable.
In November, four more incredible individuals were selected, and their stories show just how powerful a little joy can be.
Acting classes to inspire Liam’s recovery journey
Liam, who lives in a supported living service in Manchester, is set to begin acting classes thanks to his 30 Wishes award.
The classes will help Liam focus on his passion for performance while supporting his mental health and recovery from addiction.
Liam said: “I am very excited at the prospect of doing acting and furthering my career. I feel like this will give me some direction and purpose and help my mental health and give me the confidence to succeed.”
Mel Duffin, Registered Manager at Liam’s service who nominated him, said: “Winning the money will support him with his acting career and will really encourage Liam to stay on the correct path. This will give him a sense of achievement and hopefully support him with his recovery. I am so excited for what is to come for Liam.”

Alastair reconnects with a friend in Edinburgh
Alastair, who lives in a supported living service in Northumberland, will soon travel to Edinburgh to spend time with a close friend and enjoy a meal together.
Alastair said: “I’m so pleased. I will get to see my friend get to go out and have food.”
Service Manager Sarah Robertson explained: “This wish will make a huge difference to Alastair’s wellbeing. Time reconnecting with his friend in the new year is something he’s really looking forward to.”
Sensory lights bring calm for Graham
Graham, a person we support in the North East, will soon have new sensory lights installed in his bedroom to help him relax and wind down, especially during challenging moments.
Graham said: “I’m excited to win!”
Sarah Robertson, who nominated Graham, said: “These lights will create a soothing environment for Graham, supporting his emotional wellbeing and helping him manage stress.”
Julie enjoys a well-deserved spa day
Julie, who has made incredible progress in her mental health recovery at a mental health service in Preston, will soon enjoy a relaxing spa day at Ribby Hall.
Her Support Worker, Elisa Hari, shared: “Julie has worked so hard on her recovery. This spa day is a wonderful way to celebrate her achievements and give her a special experience.”
