Jade's Step Up Challenge
Support Worker Jade got in touch to tell us the story of how she changed her lifestyle for the better and share some before and after photos of her health transformation to inspire the teams taking part in our Step Up For Summer challenge. She said:
“After I gave birth to my daughter in January 2014, I weighed just under 15 stone. I began attending Slimming World – enough was enough. After six months I hit my target of losing three stone.
I purchased a Fitbit and me and my friend Bethan set a friendly challenge of walking 10,000 steps daily.
I upped my steps, first to 20,000 a day, then 40,000. I could eat how I like and still keep the weight off. I think I am proof that walking does actually work. My advice would be to wear the correct footwear and rest at regular intervals to prevent injuries.
With a busy work life and caring for my daughter at home, finding time to go gym is impossible. Supporting service users on their daily activities enables me and my colleagues to keep fit and healthy. Happy stepping everyone!”
