Lifeways Chief Executive Andrea Kinkade named as finalist in prestigious ‘Power List’
Andrea Kinkade, Chief Executive at Lifeways, has been shortlisted in the Specialist and Complex Care Leader category of the prestigious HealthInvestor Power List Awards.
Andrea is one of only 10 leaders from throughout the UK shortlisted for the awards which recognise and celebrate the most influential leaders and organisations in the health and social care sector.
Lifeways is being transformed under Andrea’s leadership. Since taking the helm in August 2022, she has overseen a change programme which has transformed Lifeways from a shrinking to a growing business, with 82% of services now rated good or better.
Lifeways introduced a radical digitalisation programme which has seen paper records replaced by electronic care records (Nourish) and rostering systems (Deputy), helping frontline staff spend more time with the people we support and less time on admin tasks.
Unwavering focus
An unwavering focus upon quality and placing the people we support at the heart of everything has seen Lifeways being recognised and winning the opportunity to support people in parts of the UK it has never been before.
The Lifeways culture has also evolved under Andrea’s watch, with an open and approachable executive team leading by example in being transparent about issues and working with team members at all levels of the business to find solutions.
Overall, financial performance has improved, staff engagement is rising, staff turnover is down and retention is up.
Andrea said: “I’m humbled to have been nominated for this award and grateful to be shortlisted. But I would stress, any award nomination for Lifeways isn’t about me.
“It’s truly a reflection of the extraordinary hard work our teams have put in to transforming what we do and how we do it so that the people we support can lead great lives. That’s our focus. That’s why we’re here.
"I wish all of the finalists the very best of luck. It is wonderful to see so many talented people being recognised as we all strive to raise care levels across our incredible sector."
The HealthInvestor Power List awards will be held on 3 December 2024 in London.
