Two game-changing leaders from Lifeways have been shortlisted in the South West Region Great British Care Awards.

Clive Pullen (left in the picture above), scheme manager at our Thorne House supported living service in Yeovil, is a finalist in the Care Innovator category, while Hussain Ahmed (right), scheme manager at our Bonham House supported living service in Redditch, is on the shortlist in the Home Care Frontline Leaders category.

Clive and Hussain both work in the mental health division at Lifeways, the UK’s biggest team of professionals providing support for adults in the community.

Hussain was shortlisted for improving morale, creating a friendlier and more engaging service at Bonham House and for securing funding to improve resources.

Clive was nominated for his work on Nourish – the company’s new electronic record management system. He was instrumental in trialling, stress-testing, rolling out and championing Nourish to the business, as well as suggesting ways of developing the tool specifically for people with mental health challenges.

Jemma Carley, regional director for the mental health division, said: “We’re so proud of Clive and Hussain. They do exceptional work, in some extremely challenging circumstances, and deserve every accolade that comes their way.

“Clive’s infectious enthusiasm has led him to becoming an innovation leader in our business, while Hussain’s incredible leadership has turned a service around. We wish them all the best in the awards.”

The Great British Care Awards celebrate the unsung heroes of social care with regional awards before a gala dinner and ceremony in Birmingham in 2025.
