Lifeways pledges to make ‘30 wishes’ come true as part of 30th anniversary celebration
Lifeways has pledged to make wishes come true for 30 people they support as part of the organisation’s 30th anniversary celebration.
The social care company is marking its birthday by asking its teams to nominate 30 people supported by Lifeways to enjoy an amazing experience.
Teams are being urged to nominate people they support for a wish to be granted and could be a great day out or an experience, a slap-up meal, event or even opportunities to learn new skills.
Lifeways was formed in 1995 when it was acquired by Southampton Leisure Holdings, the owners of Premier League football club Southampton, to provide support for people with learning disabilities. After a period of rapid growth, the company has gone on to become the UK’s largest team of professionals supporting people with complex needs in the community,
'Life-changing outcomes'
CEO Andrea Kinkade, who took over at the helm of Lifeways in 2022, said: “It’s a privilege to lead such an extraordinary organisation as we enter our third decade of supporting some of society’s most vulnerable individuals to live as independently as possible.
“Over the past 30 years, our teams have achieved truly humbling and life-changing outcomes.”
“They’ve helped people with complex needs achieve remarkable independence, and we’ve seen so many success stories of individuals who have gone on to live fully independent lives.
“As part of our anniversary celebrations, we want to do something extra special to honour the people we support by granting 30 unique wishes. This is our way of saying thank you for being part of the Lifeways story.”
As part of its unwavering commitment to co-production, nominations will be judged by the recently formed Lifeways Executive Advisory Panel (LEAP).
LEAP is made up of people we support whose role is to ensure every decision made by Lifeways has been approved by the people it impacts.
