Lifeways’ Warwickshire and Coventry supported living services freshly rated as ‘Good’

Lifeways’ supported living services in the Warwickshire and Coventry area have been freshly rated by England's health and social care regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), as ‘Good.’
In April last year, CQC inspectors had found that the service ‘Requires Improvement.’ Following a long-standing improvement plan put in place by Lifeways’ central and regional teams, the service is now ‘Good.’
Our aim is for the service to be rated ‘Outstanding’ on its next inspection – the highest CQC rating.
Our seven supported living services in Warwickshire and Coventry provide support, including personal care where appropriate, to people with learning disabilities and autistic people living in their own homes.
This fresh new CQC rating, given in January, confirms that inspectors found the Lifeways service to be safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.
What the CQC report says about our Warwickshire and Coventry supported living service:
- "People spoke positively about the service they received and had built bonds with the staff supporting them."
- "Staff supported people in their best interests, where people wanted support to make some key decisions about their care."
- "People’s wishes and aspirations were now consistently considered by staff when people’s care was planned and reviewed."
- "People were promptly assisted to access care from other health and social care professionals, so they would remain well."
Dedication and commitment

Maria Gilbert, Lifeways’ Area Manager for Warwickshire and Coventry, is delighted by the fresh new CQC rating.
“I am incredibly proud of this achievement. When I took over the area, the rating was Inadequate, and after another inspection, it improved to Requires Improvement,” recalled Maria.
“Achieving a ‘Good’ rating now reflects all the hard work that the managers and I have put in, and the entire area team is bursting with pride. Our next goal is to achieve ‘Outstanding.’”
‘Exceptional leadership skills’
“The managers have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills to their teams, and over the past two years, we have worked diligently to achieve this outcome,” added Maria.
With the fresh new rating of ‘Good’, it’s now time to join the road to ‘Outstanding’. Watch this space!
Our Warwickshire and Coventry services were previously rated by the CQC in June 2023.
All health and social care services in England are given one of four ratings by the CQC: Outstanding, Good, Requires Improvement, or Inadequate.
