Lifeways welcomes Professor Martin Green OBE and CEO of Care England for leadership discussion on the future of social care
Lifeways was pleased to welcome Professor Martin Green OBE, Chief Executive of Care England, to speak with senior leaders about the challenges and opportunities facing the social care sector.
Professor Green joined the Lifeways leadership team for a wide-ranging discussion covering some of the most important issues currently affecting care providers, including funding, workforce pressures, regulation, innovation, technology and the future direction of social care.
The session gave team members from across the organisation the opportunity to hear Professor Green’s perspective on the wider policy landscape, share their own frontline experiences, and discuss the realities of delivering high-quality support for people with complex needs.
During the discussion, Professor Green spoke about the need for social care to be properly recognised for the complexity, skill and impact involved in supporting people with a wide range of needs. He also reflected on the importance of ensuring that policy, funding and regulation support better outcomes for the people we support.
Professor Green encouraged providers to continue sharing evidence, data and real-life stories that demonstrate the difference social care makes to individuals, families and communities.
Andrea Kinkade, CEO at Lifeways, said: “We were delighted to welcome Professor Green to Lifeways and truly appreciate the time he took to meet with our teams. Creating space for open and honest discussion is essential, giving colleagues the opportunity to share their insights and reflect the breadth of work happening across our organisation.
"We were proud to highlight the progress we are making in strengthening quality, governance, data and innovation, as well as our commitment to building a strong, unified voice for the social care sector.
