Our Inverness housing support service gets a fresh new Care Inspectorate rating!
Our housing support service in Inverness, Scotland, has achieved a fresh new ‘Very Good’ rating – a step up from its previous rating of ‘Good’ in 2022.
Lifeways in Scotland provides housing support, supported living, and residential services at over 130 locations, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, North and South Lanarkshire, the Highlands, and Inverness.
The newly released rating in Inverness follows a series of recent ratings from the Care Inspectorate for Lifeways services. Our services in and around Edinburgh and Glasgow were also recently rated ‘Very Good.’
All our services in Scotland are regulated by the Care Inspectorate and other regulatory bodies. The Care Inspectorate provides care services in Scotland with one of six ratings: 6 – Excellent, 5 – Very Good, 4 – Good, 3 – Adequate, 2 – Weak, and 1 – Unsatisfactory.
Our Inverness housing support service supports 35 people living in and around the city with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and mental ill-health.
What the Care Inspectorate report says about Inverness:
- “People felt very well supported at this service… Management and staff were very keen for people to be comfortable and happy.”
- “This service helped people to get on with their lives. People's individuality, preferences, interests, and wishes were recognised and very well supported by staff.”
- “There were examples of people pursuing their ambitions, overcoming challenges and achieving goals they had set for themselves.”
- “Staff were motivated and knowledgeable in supporting people. Staff members said they received encouragement and support from management to achieve a high standard of support for people.”
‘Our lovely service’
Commenting on the new rating, Carolyn Dickie, the Inverness service’s Registered Manager, said:
“We are all pleased that all the hard work we put into creating a friendly, happy, and communicative service is being recognised.”
Carolyn added: “We know we’ve still more work to do to make our lovely service even better, such as finding more ways to get people more involved with the development of the service, and keeping people more up to date with support team rota changes.”
