Queen Oaks Court Stoke on Trent Bucknall supported living

Lifeways is set this summer to open Queen Oaks Court, a purpose-built supported living service for 16 adults with complex needs in Stoke-on-Trent.

Queen Oaks Court will provide support for individuals who live with learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injuries, and physical disabilities. It’s been built from the ground up with these needs in mind.

The service is made up of 16 self-contained one-bedroom apartments spread over two floors. Of the 16 apartments, eight are suitable for people with mobility issues. Every person at the service will have access to a communal garden.

The service will have a Lifeways Support Team there 24 hours a day, to support each individual to lead a fulfilling, independent life.

Paying homage

Queen Oaks Court was named to pay homage to the now-demolished pub on its site, The Queen of Hearts.

“We are very excited to be opening our new supported living service, Queen Oaks Court, this summer,” said Ros Creamer, Lifeways’ Community Engagement and Development Manager for the West Midlands.

“It is a new property and is modern and finished to a high standard. When Queen Oaks Court opens, it will be a great opportunity for individuals to move into their own home with support from Lifeways.

“Living in a shared building means people can benefit from social community living, while still having their own front door. We look forward to welcoming people to their new homes.”

Queen Oaks Court is located in Stoke-on-Trent’s Bucknall suburb. When it opens this summer, the service will be ideal for individuals who wish to live in a brand-new, modern apartment and easily access the local community, while receiving the right level of support.
