Tree planting ceremony at Bedwardine Court, Worcester

Last week we were joined by the Mayor of Worcester, Jabbar Riaz, and our partners for a special tree planting ceremony. The pear tree was planted to mark the ‘topping out’ of Bedwardine Court, a 20-apartment supported living scheme that is due to be complete in August.

Bedwardine Court consists of 20 modern and accessible one bedroom apartments for individuals who require specialist, individualised and person centred support.

All the apartments are self-contained and consist of bedroom, bathroom, hallway, living room and kitchen. Assistive Technology is built into each apartment and is tailored according to the individual needs and requirements of the tenant.

The Mayor of Worcester was given a tour of the development, and was able to find out more about how supported living enables people to live safely and independently, in the heart of the community.

Project Manager with Lifeways Tom Falconer said:

“Lifeways is thrilled to be part of finding a solution to meet the needs of local people wanting to move on to greater independence. From the overall building design to the design and layout of each individual home, Bedwardine Court will provide people with very high quality and adapted accommodation, alongside exceptional support.”

Thanks to all our partners – Specialised Supported Housing, Inclusion Housing and Lancer Scott Ltd – for a lovely day!
